Sun 2 Oct West from Stansted Mountfitchet Most of this easy cycle ride is through quiet lanes. There is a ford at Barwick, a good pub at Westmill and we go through the attractive town of Buntingford. The ride is 32 miles and there are no major climbs. Meet at the car park at the back of the library on Crofton Green. Leader: John Bobin

Sun 9 Oct Martello Towers Walk, Part 2 Circular walk from St Osyth passing Point Clear Martello tower and Colne Point nature reserve. There is a £15 charge, per person, for the minibus. Approx. 7 miles. Meet at The Elms, 9am. Leader: Jenny Butler

Sun 16 Oct Nathan's Furze Loop, Ongar Meet at the car park opposite Budworth Hall (CM5 9AA) at 9.30am for a gentle ride through Stondon Massey, Blackmore, Highwood, Hay Green and Hook End, with a pub lunch at the end of the ride - cup of tea at the start. Leader: Ken Plowman
