Sun 4 Sep Annual Tweed Ride 2pm start from Belfairs Woodland Centre and finish at Southchurch Park. Admission is free, but tweed dress is mandatory. Cream teas will be available (£3.50) and high tea (£7). However, the teas must be booked in advance. There will be prizes for the best dressed rider and best vintage inspired bike. Thu 15 Sep Warwick Deeping Trail, Southend A guided walk led by Jenny Butler, 11am – 12:30pm, based on the life and novels of Southend-born author Warwick Deeping. £6 charge. Please phone the Essex Record Office on 03330132500 to book.
Sun 18 Sep Jim’s Cycle Meet at Heybridge Basin at 9:30am for a 30 mile cycle ride via Little Totham, Great Braxted, Kelvedon and Coggeshall. Coffee at the start and possibly half way, and lunch at the finish. Leader: Jim Skinner
