About Us

Exercise and fun!

The Traditional Touring Club is based in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, England. We arrange events for ourselves such as:

Walking trips and cycle rides - in Britain and further afield
Weekend and longer trips
Social events, including a book club, film group, allotment group - and more!

We meet on the third Wednesday of every month at The Constitutional Club in Elm Road, Leigh-on-sea at 8.30pm. Come along and join us.

Next Walks and Cycles




Wed 24 Sep  Leigh to Benfleet Return  This walk follows the river path from Leigh Station to the Gladys, near Benfleet Station, and back.  The round trip is 61/4 miles.  Meet 10am at Leigh Station, but note car park charges on weekdays.  An easy walk, but please listen to the weather forecast and dress accordingly.  Please note that, at the Leigh Station car park, an all day ticket may be purchased for £2.20, after 10am.  Otherwise, it will cost £5.20.  Also, the Gladys is open from 11:30am and serves tea and coffee, as well as alcoholic beverages. Leader: Pat O’Shea.

Sun 28 Sep  Essex Lanes Cycle  30 mile easy cycle ride with no hills.  Meet Ongar High Street 9.30am (opposite Sainsburys car park)  Route  via Matching Green, Hatfield Heath and Sheering. Leader: Ken Plowman.
