Exercise and fun!

The Traditional Touring Club is based in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, England. We arrange events for ourselves such as:
Walking trips and cycle rides - in Britain and further afield
Weekend and longer trips
Social events, including a book club, film group, allotment group - and more!

We meet on the third Wednesday of every month at The Constitutional Club in Elm Road, Leigh-on-sea at 8.30pm. Come along and join us.

Next Walks and Cycles




Sun 24 June  North Fambridge to Burnham  Nice, tranquil and easy 10 mile walk along the River Crouch and lunch in Burnham at the end (or you can bring a packed lunch). Then back to North Fambridge by train. Meet 9am at The Elms for car share or meet 10am at Fambridge Station.  Contact Sally.

Mon 25 June  Jackie’s Walk to Benfleet  Five miles each way with optional stop for lunch in the Half Crown pub and easy lift back on public transport, if desired. No need to book, just turn up. 10:30am from outside Osborne’s Cockle Stall in Old Leigh.  Contact Jackie.

Sun 1 July  Walk from Upper Beeding to Pyecombe on the South Downs Way  There is a walk of 71/2 miles or a shorter walk of 51/2 miles. At the end there will be a meal at 'The Plough' in Pyecombe - £5 deposit required. A coach is available at a cost of £15 per person. This will leave The Elms at 8:30am. Both monies (£20 in total) need to be paid in advance to Mike or Anne Parry. Please be aware that the club has been forced to hire a larger coach than anticipated and would prefer at least 35 people on the trip. A day in Brighton, is an alternative to walking.  Contact Mike Parry.

Sat 7 July  Women Only Cycle Rides  A cycling group has planned two events next month to celebrate women’s cycling. Southend Wheelers are organising two women-only circular bike rides to mark Cycling UK’s Women’s Festival of Cycling.  Both rides will take place on Saturday 7 July, with a 20 mile ride leaving the Chalkwell Shelter at 8:50am and a 10 mile ride leaving the Shore House Harvester at 9:30am.  All abilities are welcome to take part.  There are no contact details – just turn up!

    An opportunity to buy TTC 'outer garments'
